Five Minute Fridays ~ Together

On Fridays we write, one topic, no edits. Just the pure form of writing to write. Join all of with Lisa Jo at The Gypsy Mama.
Topic: Together

Haven't you read," he replied, "that at the beginning the Creator 'made them male and female,' and said, 'For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh'? So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate."  Matthew 19:4-6

"So they are no longer two, but one." Marriage is suppose to be that way. In where you did one you will now have two. But in some that Two doesn't come easily. When Steve and I got married we didn't have much Together time. He worked over nights. I went to school during the day and worked evenings. We would see each other sometimes on the weekends. This led to a habit of doing things separately.

This habit grew and grew till we were taking separate vacations, Mouse had Mommy dates and Daddy dates but very few Together as a family time. I firmly believe this habit is what lead to the Fires of last year. It was not the sole factor there was many other choices we made that led to it but it stemmed from the fact that we did not see us as one.

We now work at Together time. Pulling it out of the day where we can. We have also made a point to plan trips Together. We getting ready for our trip to California Redwoods. This will be our first major vacation since the Restoring of us. It will be interesting to see the changes that it brings to our vacations. Changes like the journal, the pictures, the changes to us.

As we see the regrowth in areas of the Redwoods, I hope it reminds us of the growing we have already done and as we look up we see the growth we have yet to do.

  2. marriage is about constantly growing and stretching, and together time is the glue. i notice when my husband and i don't have together time, we drift apart so easily and so quickly. thanks for your honesty.
