So I write for Five minute, no edits, no re dos and at the end I will see if there are pictures from my week Instagram feed that match the words of this week.
Topic: Blue
I watch the blue waves crashing over the rocks. The noise blocks out all other sounds. The rhythm of it focuses my thoughts. And yet I don't want them to be focused to see the emotions that are riding just below the surface.
"But he must ask in faith without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind." James 1:6
It's there the doubt and fears. Picasso had his Blue Period, I have mine.
When I think he has nothing to say to me.
When I question His leading.
Then I feel it, like the waves tossed by the wind. I feel myself being rocked.
Tossed and driven
Like the starfish tossed on shore, just waiting for someone to throw it back in to the depth.
I wait like that lonely starfish for someone or something to come along. Because some days I don't have the strength to do it alone.
The doubts overwhelm.
The need for community is there to help us back into the smoothing depths of the ocean.
To peace and faith with out doubts.
One day a woman was walking along the beach upon which hundreds of starfish had been washed up and now lay stranded on the sand.
As she continued walking, she noticed a young girl in the distance, picking something up and gently throwing it into the ocean.

She approached the girl, and asked, “What are you doing?”
The girl replied, “Throwing starfish back into the ocean. The surf is up and the tide is going out. They need to be in the water, if I don’t throw them back, they’ll die.”
“My daughter,” the woman said, “don’t you realize there are miles and miles of beach and hundreds of starfish? You can’t possibly make a difference!”
After listening politely, the girl bent down, picked up another starfish, and threw it back into the surf.
Then she looked up, smiled at the woman, and said:
“I made a difference to that one.”

Make a difference today.
