Stillness in a New Day

Today is Five Minute Fridays so lets link up and write
So I write for Five minute, no edits, no re dos and at the end I will see if there are pictures from my week Instagram feed that match the words of this week.
Topic: Still

I am not a morning person. I am not even close to what you call a morning person.
Morning people confuse me.
I love sunsets and evening skies.
I love late night chats and coffee at midnight.
But for my job I wake up before sunrise. My husband would say "wake up" is by perspective.
That I am moving and semi-conscious until he drops me off at work.
That my verbal skills take a cup of coffee or two to really wake up.
But I am starting to see the wonders in sunrises that morning people see.
The sun peaking up over the horizon brings on a stillness that sunsets just don't.

God's promise of a new day and new things.
"See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland." ~Isaiah 49:19
Is so present in the morning sun, it makes you stop, to be still.
To see it as truly a new day, not just a continuation of the day before.

“Tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it... Yet.”
L.M. Montgomery, Anne of Green Gables

Embrace tomorrow's coming in the stillness of it's morning.

  1. I often say, "Today is a new day with no mistakes in it!" while walking my dog and watching the sun rise! Thanks for these encouraging words. And from one who loves the morning, I'm glad you are beginning to enjoy them! :) Happy Friday from your FMF neighbor!
