Birthday Week and December Wants

Friday is my birthday! I love birthdays. This year my wants were pretty low key. Since I just bought a new camera for my business I thought I would keep my wishes a bit on the lower expense side of things.

Steve, Mouse and I went to a bunch of Artist markets and craft fairs this past weekend looking for birthday presents and Christmas gifts. This necklace was one of the items I was looking for but sadly the vendor didn't have any with.

Which also happened with this glass too, but their studio is close to work so we are picking it up tomorrow. I am so excited for this tumbler. Steve has a beer glass that says Sota (Minnesota) on it and now I have one for my drinks.

I am also looking at this travel watercolor paint case. Currently I don't travel with full paints but I like the option too. I also love the painting on the front and that it is also from a local artist.

My final Minnesota maker want is this warm scarf. I don't any of these button style scarfs but I really like the look of them and I think I would especially like them in winter. They seem so warm and won't come unwound from my neck or add bulk under my coat.

So that is it my Minnesota Birthday wants.

Fall Wants

Fall makes me want to shop. I think it's because fall clothes are my favorite. I love the colors and the layers. I love tall boots and jackets. This year I was very excited by the Old Navy ad which is a first for me. But when I saw this dress I had to have it.

I love the color combo of mustard and grey. Steve and I are headed out of two for a weekend get away next week and this dress is coming with. Along with some tights and boots. And a sweater because Minnesota north shores are cold already.  Which means its curl up with a good book time. I have had my eye on this book for a while now.

The topic sounds fun and books about books are some of my favorites.

If I have my book then I need to have a coffee mug, because I need warm coffee, tea or coco all day long. I really need to figure out how to get these mugs.

They are perfect for our new camper! And there is one for each of us. I am the anchor because water is my favorite, Steve is the bike one for sure, and Mouse is the constellation mug, she loves the stars.

Now all I need is a warm blanket and I think I am set.

July Wants

It's been a while since I did a wants post. This month I have been on an Arts and Organization buying spree. My craft room, which I love, is in need of a reorganization. Mostly my crafting style has changed. When we first built the room I was doing mostly sewing and some scrapbooking. Now I am doing more art work and some scrapbooking with very few sewing projects. This means my large hutch with all the fabric needs to be slimmed down and other things need to go in its place. But art supplies and scrapbooking embellishments don't stack as nice as fabric so I have been collecting various boxes and stands in multiple colors to help organize. I still need a few more pieces, like this.

I also need something like this this for the little things. Mouse is doing the Project Life style scrapbook and I am doing more Smash Journal style so we have a lot of small items now.

I also am looing to get a few more art supplies. I want this brush tip pen, Tombow is suppose to be a great brand.

I also need some more water brushes. these come in so handy while traveling. I really like a good brush and water when I am working at home but for traveling having it combined makes everything perfect!

I am also waiting for this book to go on sale. I love the bird on the front and am excited to read some of the tips within the book.

I think that covers all of my wants for today. Thankfully Amazon is having a Prime Birthday party and some of these items are on sale!! Off to do more shopping.

April Wants

 April is not to early for gathering some Mother's day present, right?!?! OK, it may be a bit early but I couldn't help but to share some of these finds. First, is this beautiful necklace that I found on Etsy. It is filled with mustard seeds. "If you have faith as small as a mustard seed...nothing will be impossible for you" That has always been a favorite of mine.

 

I am also still collecting items for our little coffee station, that I am hoping to have in our next house. This tea towel from Etsy is perfect! Seriously, I love the lettering and the saying.  

 I also desperately need a new trench coat. My red one is getting pretty dirty looking that the dry cleaner can't get out any more. I am really liking this coral one from Amazon. Though I am a bit worried that it may be too bright. What do you think?

September Wants ~ Book Lover

For September and the start of school I thought I would focus my wants around my favorite part of school reading. I have always loved reading and have been a voracious reader since grade school. I still enjoy all things book related. So here are my current finds that I am pretty sure I want need.

This Novel Tea is so fun and what better way to learn great lines from book you may have read or ones you will want to read.

Now you need something to put that tea in and Amazon has two perfect mugs. The first is the    Banned Books Mug  that lists what else banned books. I find it funny reading off what books have been banned over the years.

Another fun one for memorizing or trying to guess the book is First Lines Mug. I have to say I am dreadful at this. There are very few books I remember the first line from, which may mean I need the next game.

Now I know the game memory is a kids game but this Book Memory looks a bit more complicated than that one but maybe not. And out of the three games I have listed here it does seem to be the easiest one.

This one also seems pretty easy just play Monopoly but buy up book related things. This version may make we want to play the full game more. Bookopoly is one I think our whole family would like.

Steve and I are both Scrabble fans, but haven't played the game in ages. I think if we bought Book Scrabble we would play it again. Though this one seems more complicated then original Scrabble.

 

That is it those are my September wants. Yes, I said I would post the recipes from my dinners during the juice cleanse. Don't worry I will post them next week.

August Wants

I know August is almost over and I am just now getting around to my wants list. I think that this American culture of new school clothes shopping embeds in us this desire for new things come August, because I want all sorts of stuff right now. But for the sake of shorter blog post I will limit it to just a few.

I am in love with this typography print from Fancy That Design House on Etsy. I am not even sure where I would put it at this point but I know I need to have it.

 

I really love all three of these vintage sheets from Stephanie D's shop on Etsy. I love vintage sheets, they just feel so soft (Yes, I know that it's because they are worn but I still love them). I am looking for both fitted and plain for the camper beds. And maybe some blue ones for our bedroom.

 

I have plenty of projects I need to get done but when I saw this pattern I thought I should probably have one more. Is this tree not the cutest from Cozy Blue on Etsy.

 

 

And because no want list is complete without something related to Sherlock Holmes. I had to throw this necklace in from Fragile Elite Design on Etsy. I love when people quote the book and not the movies or TV show.

May Wants

I am so excited I finally found my Sherlock Scarf! And it's May so that means Mother's Day is here...hint....hint, Steve. You now have a whole page of ideas to get me.

I also want this scarf so bad too. But this one is for my head. I love head scarves especially in summer and this is a great blend of colors perfect for almost any outfit.

 

Yes, I know this one is completely geeky but as we get closer to our East Coast trip, I can't help but get into all the history of the area and these movies just remind me of that. I know they are fake and quirky and truly not the best but I love them.

 

I also think we are in need of a new coffee maker. And this one I think fits our needs it can do coffee and tea at any time. We've tried the Kcup style coffee makers and we realized that it's not our style. Now I just have to stomach the price of this one.

April Wants

Most people think of spring cleaning but really I think of spring shopping! And this year I really want a few things, just a few I promise. 

I am in some desperate need of new comfortable Wellies, but Hunters are not in my budget so I think these navy blue ones will be perfect.

I also need a new trench coat. My red one is getting pretty beat up and old looking. I think this time this green one is exactly what I need. 

I also really want this print from Recipe for Crazy. It fits so perfectly with my life. I almost want two one for work and one for home.

And finally I really want a salt holder. The glass jar I bought the salt in just doesn't quite work. So this wood one would be perfect with its magnet closure.

October Wants

I am not sure if it's Steve's new job, the weather or my online shopping obsession but I just help but get excited for all this great home goodness out there in cyberspace. 

Like this amazing retro glasses, which really do need. Steve and I have been on glasses hunt for months now. Ours are old and cloudy but I really want to buy a 6 to 8 set and sadly there are only four of these ones. 

Then these candle holders would make a great dining room center piece. But I think we could make these and I am not sure I need quite that many. 

I fell in love with these sweet little deer mugs. We don't really need mugs but these ones are so cute, with the deer and green centers. LOVE

We are going to build these pallet shelves later this month. I plan on holding wine bottles and cookbooks on them. Mine won't be as big , I am think two smaller ones in a faded driftwood stain. 

The final item I need is way more expensive then I like to spend buy I am pretty sold on this. I will be watching it with a hope for a great black Friday deal. I am not even sure where I would put it but it is soo perfect.

May Wants

May is bringing in some warm weather to Minnesota and getting me thinking of fun summer things. It's making me think of wine sipped on the front patio. Which means I need this cute glasses

Warm weather also means travel time for our family. We just got home from our big trip (more pictures to come) but it also means lots of camping trips planned. Which this print would be perfect for the camper.

April Wants ~ Etsy

Spring in Minnesota means the hope of warmer weather but normally it means rains and crazy weeks of ranging weather from 20 degrees to 70 degrees. But colors start to get brighter and fabric starts to get lighter, and we start dreaming of being outside again.

Spring in MN is still cold so I tend to wear some darker colors still (really I wear dark colors year round). Dark is OK especially when it has the perfect spring quote on it like picture 1.

But we always need to add some color when it comes to spring, this bracelet is perfect. I love coral and turquoise together so much.
For spring I am looking at air fabrics like in picture number 3. The color and floatiness (it's a word now) is just perfect for the mid season.
