Harry Potter World ~ Universal Studios

This past weekend we did the Harry Potter trip we gave Mouse for Christmas. I have to say it was pretty amazing. The details that Universal has put into their parks is crazy! You can't take it all in on the first time through.
When you walk into Hogsmead, the soaring chimneys and snow capped stores great you. It's like walking on to the movie set. The store windows are all decked out even the ones in the back alleys. Every thing is set to remind you of the books and movies, even the music is playing in the background. The workers are all dressed in there parts and rarely step out of character.

We had to do the standard picture by the Hogwarts Express. And Mouse picked up her own Purple Pigmy Puff, just like Ginny. She named her puff Violet and the Zonko's store made a big announcement about her adoption.
One of our fun finds was the Weasley's car, you can still get to it even if you don't ride the Dragon Ride. Mouse was a bit scared of the rides that go upside, OK she was a bit scared of a lot of the rides.
In my mind the best ride was the Forbidden Journey part of the fun was walking through castle. You get to see many of your favorite spots from the movie. Though Mouse was upset that you couldn't wander through more of the castle, especially the open walkway and potions class.
The ride was good, it's a mix of video screens and animatronics. Mouse was a bit scared of the spiders but we did talk her into going on it again before the weekend end was over. My friend Allie told her to just remember Harry would save her in the ride, during her second trip through you could hear her say "Harry will save me". It was so cute.

Mouse's favorite ride was the Flight of the Hippogriff, because she got to see Buckbeak. She is convinced he winked at her. This roller-coaster ride is pretty tame but, it got her back into wanting to go on the other rides, which I was thankful for.
I will post more on the rest of the park later. I just wanted to get down our thoughts about the part we went there to see. And we can say Universal Studios did not disappoint.
