More than Taking Notice

Today is Five Minute Fridays so lets link up and write
So I write for Five minute, no edits, no re dos and at the end I will see if there are pictures from my week Instagram feed that match the words of this week.
Topic: Notice

"It is easy to sit up and take notice,
What is difficult is getting up and taking action." ~Honore de Balzac

Tis the season of gift giving, parties and memories. But it is also the season where the media comes out in full force to remind us of the those with less.
We take notice of the marginalized.
We see the signs for Operation Christmas Child.
We hear the bells of the Salvation Army.
We watch the toys pile up for Toys for Tots.

Are we having difficulty getting up and taking action?
Does our buying habits show we've done more than take notice?

This year I am working on taking action. figuring out ways to help.
Buying from shops that help others and giving to those in need.

Not so that others will take notice of my actions but so that I take notice of my actions.
That I can form habits of giving and shopping that help on a local and global scale.

Where and for whom are you shopping for this season?

  1. I have to say that I LOVE this time of year not only because we recognize the birth of our Savior with family and friends, but because it causes the world to hear His name and take on the cause of helping the poor.
James tells us in his book that pure and undefiled religion is to help the widows and orphans.I love your perspective and am looking forward to blessing others this season.
I'm your neighbor at FMF. I'm so glad I visited!! Have a great weekend!
